READING, PA - On February 9, 2011, Author T. K. Marion launched his "Books for Our Heroes" program at the VA Medical Center in Coatesville, PA. The mission of "Books for Our Heroes" is to donate copies of his three military historical novels to veterans receiving medical care in military and VA hospitals nationwide. This event coincided with the VA's week-long "National Salute to Hospitalized Veterans" tribute, and the author was honored to autograph books for nearly 200 wounded veterans.

Says Marion, "We had been planning the event for nearly a year. Thanks to the support of the Voluntary Services Director Earl Johnson and his hard-working team at Coatesville, the experience was as joyful and thrilling as it was humbling. While I enjoyed the chance to write a personal message for each veteran, my greatest thrill was to look into the eyes of these wounded warriors, shake their hands and thank them for their bravery and sacrifice in the line of duty."

Coatesville VA Medical Center is "devoted to improving the health of the men and women who have so proudly served our nation," and the commitment of the staff of living up to their mission was on display each time the "Books for Our Heroes" team visited the facility while planning for the event. In recognition of Coatesville's dedication to quality care, a certificate of appreciation was presented to the medical center along with a monetary donation to be used in assisting homeless veterans.

"Books for Our Heroes" is now planning future events to be held in the southeastern Pennsylvania region. The author of Kill the Devil, The Principled Men and East Wind, Rain, Marion intends to greatly expand the scope of the program with the assistance of corporate and individual sponsorships.

He has consistently been recognized for his compelling writing style combined with the authenticity of the period about which he is writing.

Marion is also the founder of the non-profit Thirteen Stars Foundation™ which awards scholarships to individuals with Cystic Fibrosis. The Foundation is funded exclusively from the author's royalties. With "Books for Our Heroes™," Marion envisions donating books nationwide to our troops and veterans currently receiving inpatient care in our many medical facilities.
